Summer Running Start

Summer Running Start programs are available for students to take courses, through the college, starting the summer of 10th grade before their 11th grade year starts and between 11th and 12th grade. Students can just take a course or two during summer or they can participate in summer as a 4th quarter.

Summer course catalogs are often posted at the same time as fall course catalogs. Make sure to review the summer course catalog to see if the course you would like to take is being offered. Summer covers the same amount of material as any other quarter but in a shorter time period. Please be sure you are ready for this responsibility and time commitment before signing up.

Current Running Start Students:

  • If you are already a Running Start student and interested in taking classes over summer, bring the summer EVF with you when you meet with your counselor for fall enrollment.

  • Make sure you are NOT finishing graduation requirements during summer before your senior year, or you will not be allowed to continue with Running Start your senior year. We need at least one (1) graduation requirement left going into the fall of your senior year.

New to Running Start:

  • If you are new to Running Start and want to take summer classes, you will follow the steps listed on the "Applying to Running Start" page AND complete the Summer EVF.  You will need to complete the regular EVF as well in order to register for fall classes.
