Program Requirements

Program Orientation Meeting- meet with the online coordinator to learn about the program requirements and expectations

  • Location:  Classroom 1205 
  • Resources: TBD
  • Date: 1st Week of Semester 
  • Time: the first 20 minutes of period 1-7
    • Additional program orientation times will be added for students with a late online enrollment.
  • NOTE: This is separate from and in addition to the online provider orientation videos for all new online students (Edgenuity/Imagine Learning).

Attendance

This is an in-person program, periods 1-7.  Attendance is taken each day at the beginning of the period.  Students are encouraged to utilize their in-class time and may also work at home in order to stay on target or work ahead according to the course pacing guide/target due dates.

0 period students taking an online course above and beyond their full-time school schedule at MSHS (7 periods) or Running Start (10 credits) will take their course from home.  In order to be counted present for attendance each day, students must be active in their course, make progress each 7-day week according to their course pacing guide/target due dates & complete the Weekly Progress Check.  

  • Active = logging in and working on the course content.
  • Progress = submitting graded assignments.
  • Weekly Progress Check = in person, via phone/email or complete the WPC questionnaire.

Exam Proctoring

  • Online students are required to complete ALL UNIT TESTS, MIDTERMS and FINALS (and, in some cases, Quizzes) in the MSHS Online Learning Classroom in a supervised/proctored setting.  Any retakes must be taken in-person, too.  Personal Devices (iPads, Laptops, etc.) are NOT permitted for use in the Online Learning Classroom - district issued devices ONLY.  
  • PE/FITNESS Courses are the only exception and DO NOT require in-person exams.
  • Students taking an online course through the MSHS Online Learning Program during 0-Period are of no exception; it will be the students' responsibility to find time for in person testing during the available testing hours (listed below) 
  • Testing Hours:  7:30am - 3:30pm daily (excluding lunch, early release, in-service and non-student workdays).  Testing is not available if the Program Coordinator is out unless other arrangements have been made.
  • Block Days are recommended for testing.
