Senior High School & Beyond Plan

What is a High School and Beyond Plan?

The HSBP is a graduation requirement designed to help students annually reflect on three guiding questions: Who am I? What can I Become? and How do I Become That? With the passage of Senate Bill (SB) 5243 in 2023, OSPI began preparing to transition all public schools serving students in grades 7-12 to a universal, statewide platform for HSBP. You can also find HSBP lessons below. Lessons are organized by grade level.

What is SchooLinks?

SchooLinks is a modern, all-in-one platform designed to help K-12 students, their families, and school staff with college and career readiness. It acts as a centralized hub for students to explore their interests and strengths, plan for their future, and navigate the application process.

  • Self-Discovery and Exploration: Students can take surveys and quizzes to identify their interests, strengths, and personality traits. The platform then suggests potential careers and colleges that align with those result
  • Career and College Research: SchooLinks provides tools for students to research different careers, including watching videos from mentors, and explore college profiles with information on campus life, admissions statistics, and more. It also includes virtual reality campus tours for many schools
  • Planning and Organization: Students can create personalized academic and career plans, set goals, and create a "to-do" list to stay on track. They can also use the platform to manage their college application process, including tracking deadlines and organizing materials

  • Application Management: SchooLinks streamlines the application process by allowing students to request transcripts and letters of recommendation electronically. (Not currently available)

  • Financial Aid and Scholarships: The platform includes features to help families estimate and compare college costs, and to search for scholarships and financial aid opportunities.

When are High School and Beyond lessons completed?

HSBP lessons are delivered during Advisory’s during the school day. If a high school student misses a HSBP lesson due to an absence, they can access the information via Pride Time. For middle school students, support regarding missed lessons or lesson completion can contact Elaine Maimon at maimone@svsd410.org
