The Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) is administered every spring in math and English language arts to students in grades 3-8, as well as all 10th graders and any 11th and 12th graders who still need to meet a graduation pathway requirement. Students in grades 5, 8 and 11 also take the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS).
Congratulations to Mount Si High School student Sophia Long, who was recently named an honorable mention winner in the 2025 C-SPAN StudentCam competition—a national documentary contest that invites students to share messages with the president about issues that matter most to them or their communities.
